Words

By Michael J. Brand

Carefully choose the words you use; they often determine win or lose

Carefully think, pause if you may, the words in your thoughts determine the day

Words have power, even not spoken, traveling the mind at sleep and woken

Intention lives in words off the tongue
Like a love story sung or a sword being swung
The choice is yours—you must pick one

Words, not many, but not too few
The perfect amount will always do

Do not ramble, do not rant
If you are at a loss for words, better to chant

You may share a poem with a nice rhyme
More important, own your decisions one at a time

Choice is a gift, but ignorance is a choice
Kind words from the tongue make a beautiful voice

A baby is born, let the race begin
The words we teach determine a loss or win
